Practical uses for filtering
Managing large projects
- Focus on outstanding items
- Filter out approved and ordered products to concentrate on items still needing attention
- Particularly useful when managing client feedback and approvals
- Category-specific reviews
- Filter to show only specific categories (e.g., furniture) after completing others (e.g., finishes, flooring, switches)
- Helps maintain focus on one type of product at a time
- Space-based organisation
- View products for specific rooms or areas individually
- Useful when presenting options to clients room by room
- Supplier-specific lists
- Create filtered views showing products from specific suppliers
- Helpful when preparing for quote requests or orders
Using filters with other features
Sorting
Filters work seamlessly with thesheet's sorting features. Combine filtering and sorting to:
- Organise filtered products by space or category
- Create more specific groupings of products
- Maintain better project organisation
Exporting
When exporting your project to PDF, filters help you:
- Create focused spec sheets for specific rooms or categories
- Generate supplier-specific product lists
- Produce status-based reports (e.g., all approved items)
Note: The export feature will include all products currently visible in your filtered view.
Tips for effective filtering
- Start with broader filters and narrow down as needed
- Use multiple filters together for more precise results
- Remember to reset filters when you want to view your entire project
- Save time by filtering before exporting specific sections of your project
- Combine filtering with sorting for optimal project organisation
